Extend support to 12 months

Hi,

I’m wondering, do I have to purchase the theme again to get support/updates?

It would be better for us who already purchased the theme to get a lower rate since we already purchased it.

I definitely don’t think we should ask for FREE updates as this doesn’t help you all make things better and up to date, etc. I just think it should be a lower rate for updates.

Thoughts?

Thank you,
John

I was also curious how this will play out with all my various licenses “support ending” next month.

Note there *is* a discounted extend support option found on the download page for theme in your themeforest account.

Hello,
As far as we know, at the moment there is no option to extend your support after purchasing the theme. You will have to contact Envato and ask if you can extend support before it expires: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=37840
Thank you!

Hi Chris,

I do see that option, but my concern is that each year I’ll have to repurchase the entire theme + license.

Extended License

Hi Bogdan,

Thanks. I’ve contacted them. I do like your theme, so perhaps there’s a trade off 🙂

Thanks
John

I thought this was pretty straightforward …

Extend support to 12 months $17.70

so that adds 6 months added support.

Presumably at end of the 12 month period there would be option to AGAIN extend support, which at that rate would be roughly $35/year, which is very affordable if you only need support even once, or get a updated version due to changes in WordPress/security issues, etc.

Obviously it would be nice for TF to just say “get another 12 months from “right now” for $XXX” ….

For us, we’re just going ahead and buying the extended support option to help TagDiv get paid 🙂

Oh … wait, and may I say “yikes”….

I just went to do (1) support extension, and because I have multiple licenses, it wants to charge me for extended support for *ALL* licenses (!). So, in this instance it WOULD be cheaper for me to just buy one new license when the other support periods expire. Doh. So, not sure I want to do $80/year to renew ONE support license (in my case I give more support than I get … so, okay … this will be interesting!).

Obviously not well thought out there for developers, on TF’s part.

Add my voice to the “sheesh!” party on this issue now. I have one month of “support” remaining on my original batch of licenses. Doom may ensue! 🙂

Hello,
Unfortunately things are a mess at the moment. We do not have a straight answer on how to extend your support and we do not encourage buying a whole new license every time you want to extend your support but unfortunately it is not us who decide what is what so envato will have to make up their mind on how things are going to work out.
At the moment we do not plan on restricting access to this forum until things get cleared up on how this new support policy will work.
Thank you!

I’ve contacted TF and this is an answer I got:

This option will be available prior to your current support running out.

You will be notified via email of this and we are working very hard to roll this option out.

Thanks for your patience.

I’ve informed them that my support is up this month and I hope to get a resolution asap.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi,

Thanks for letting us know, unfortunately neither us have not received any notification from Envato in this regard, so we hope that they will provide a solution soon.

Thanks!

Was just curious if there is an update with support for multiple websites?

And if there might be a way we can purchase a multi domain license?

Can we just pay you directly for a theme license? Would rather you have more of the money than envato 🙂 Perhaps https://stripe.com/subscriptions if you can get a bank in https://stripe.com/global

Hi,
Unfortunately our agreement with envato will not let us sell the theme on any other platform or method so every purchase must go through envato. You will have to contact them for any purchase related question. Sorry. But we do appreciate the intention though. It’s the thought that matters after all.
Thank you!

All future updates for the theme should be available even if you don’t opt for Extended Support on TF. So the question is will you stop forum access for users after 6 months?

I don’t see why you should charge for resolving issues arising due to bugs in your theme. I haven’t even got a single satisfactory answer from your side for those issues.

Hi,
Even if support expires, you will still have access to this forum and access to any updates. Issues that are theme related as bugs or incompatibilities are always fixed asap with coming updates. Most of the support tickets here on the forum are issues that are not theme related. Most are plugin incompatibility issues or server side issues. We are sorry you feel this way about the answers we provided for you here on the forum, but looking back on your requests, I can see that you received solutions for each one. (None of them were theme bugs). If you are unhappy with our theme or our support in any way, feel free to request a refund at contact@tagdiv.com
Thank you!

Hey Bogdan,

I don’t need the refund. The Chinese Character issue was because your theme was not picking up icon files and after a lot of changes to .httacess file, php settings and trying various plugins I found out that as it was caused after I made the update to the theme, it’s something related to that. Instead of updating theme via Envato way from within WordPress, I deleted theme files and replaced them with the new theme files. The issue was resolved.

The Facebook sharing issue which you again don’t agree is your theme related was gone when I was using the Facebook Comments plugin. Apparently it was updating the OG tags which your theme fails to do so. When I removed that plugin, the issue is back again. This means I cannot use the automatic post to facebook page option of WordPress unless I have clicked on Share button 3-4 times or used Facebook debugger link.

The multiple Youtube Videos played at same time in Smart List issue looks like has been fixed.

Hi,
I’m glad you fixed most of the problems. The OG image tag is not set by our theme but rather the seo yoast plugin. We have not included options for this as seo plugins already have them. You can read more about this here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/
What I’m trying to say is there is a difference between an non existing option and a bug. A bug is an option that does not work. And since our theme has no OG image tag, this is not a bug but a non existent option you can activate through other means.
I hope this helps.
