The problem can be fixed by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/ The og image is added by Yoast, not the theme.

Maybe you had a strong cache in place and it since then cleared.

I am having the same problem and I have followed the guide and it’s still not working for me. Any chance you can help me figure out what else I can do?
My website is readunwritten.com and if you press the share button it shows no preview or the title and just says http://www.readunwritten.com.

Just to add- it only does this on certain posts for example the three latest posts on my page, the share button does not work but after that it does for the next 5 pieces? Can you explain/help? Thanks!
Facebook just randomly “does not grab” some data due to timeout of either your site or their system.
If your OG tags are there, not much else you can do on your end.
Worthwhile to check F12 in Chrome console for page errors on the pages where there is a problem. AdSense ads with borked data can sometimes cause issue too.
Typically the ONLY solution you have to random content drops is to go to FB and share the story, then click the “time since” posted, then down arrow on the post to “refresh share attachment.”
Theme does not control the actual pickup by FB of your data; it reads OG tags if there, but then timeouts can cause the hiccups.
