I created a new item in the header menu.
I don’t know which resolution/size I have to use for featured image, because in the header menu it’s cutted and in the article it is too big, or in the header menu is right but in the article it has a bad resolution.

That would mean the thumbnails are not created properly. Please regenerate the thumbnails using this guide

But in header menu image I had problems: for example Demo Default Newspaper, header menu, Fashion (and featured images).
I had problems because I would use factories logoes as featured images. I resized original logoes to 5cmx4cm, obviously I lose original logoes proportions. How can I do?

The mega-menu module thumbnail size is this one

An option to change the module in the mega-menu is not available, it will always use the same module and thumbnail size. You could maybe experiment with different featured image sizes and aspect ratios if possible for different results

I would use factory logo (set as featured image) as thumbnail in header menu.
So I resized original logo in 5.5cmx1,71 (to preserve aspect ratio) and I have regenerated the thumbnails.
That’s incredible but now I have 3 different images:

The thumbnails will be created from the featured images you set for posts. They will be cropped center top, that was decided to be the best method in general.
Most of the images used in the demo are around 1068 × 713px to allow the theme to create proper thumbnails for all modules

In order to achieve the result you want in the menu, experiment with different image sizes. Do not use such small images the thumbnails will not look properly. Take into account that they will be used on other modules as well, not just the menu.
