Hello!
My website has some videos in it and I wanted them to have featured image.
I have followed this tutorial – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/ – but with no success.
The steps I did were as follows:
1. Changed the post type to Video
2. Added link to youtube video in the featured video section
3. Even added the video in the content
The result is that the featured video link embeds the video at the top of the post content, by it does not generate a featured image. No errors in console or anything.
I have noticed also that I am unable to open the video in popup without opening it in the post. Is there some setting for that?
What might be the cause of my problems?

If you want to set a featured video, then you should set the video format as well.
Add the video link to the featured video section in the article while you edit it with Gutenberg. If you have no any featured image set up, then it will automatically render an image from the video as here: https://app.screencast.com/aLKmmCUztScmf using the shortcode called Single Post Bg Featured Image.
If you will use the Single Post Featured Image, then it will display like this: https://app.screencast.com/3NPD3wbFsxNCC

Yes I have done exactly that, but the video thumbnail is not set as featured image.

Well my settings are exactly the same as in the tutorial that I shared in the first reply. The format is set to video and I paste youtube link for the featured video, but when I hit Save on the post no featured image is automatically generated as the tutorial suggest. The only thing that happens is that the video gets embed in the beginning of the post. Again – in the post no featured image is set. The result is that I do not get thumbnail for that post.
The very problem that I want to avoid is to set the featured image manually. I want the thumbnail of the youtube video automatically to apply to the featured image of the post, which is a feature that is even described within the theme under the featured video url field – “Paste a video link from Youtube, Vimeo, Dailymotion or Twitter it will be embedded in the post and the thumb used as the featured image of this post.
You need to choose Video Format from above to use Featured Video.”
And this feature does embed the video, but in my case is not using the thumb as the featured image.
About the Single post template – I use Single Post Featured Image with the setting in the image on the link: https://ibb.co/Nyvm2hk
What am I missing here?

I tried it and still the problem remains.
I think that I must repeat myself again about what is the exact problem, because I do not think that you understand me.
I do not have problem with the single post featured image element.
My problem is about setting a featured image from video thumbnail from the featured video url as described in your tutorial.
I need the post to set it’s featured image automatically from the video thumbnail from the featured video url.
This is the feature that the tutorial describes, the feature that I need to use. Again I am putting a link to that tutorial – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
And I have problem with the part with the video url that should automatically set the featured image of the post. And it does not.
In the tutorial actually about the Single Post Featured Image it is described something different from what you are saying to me – “The Featured Video will be display on post only if you have set on single post template the Single Post Featured Image and not the Single Post Bg Featured Image.”
But either way it still does not work.
So I do get the video embeded at the beginning of the post when placing the url in featured video, but the post has no featured image set even though I follow the tutorial steps.

The Single Post Featured Image will display the video as in your screenshot. But the Single Post BG Featured Image displays the image from the video.
You should use a cloud single post template in order to be able to edit it with the tagdiv Composer.
This is should work like that. Otherwise, please check if there is not a plugin conflict.

The problem as I stated before is not in displaying the featured image within the post. My problem is that the featured image is not set at all when saving a post with featured video url. This is a feature that is supposed to work according to your tutorial. Other than tagDiv plugins recommended by the theme I use contact form 7, but I doubt that it has anything to do with this.
Once again I am explaining my problem and if you cannot understand what I need to solve tell me because this can go forever like that.

Make a test and deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using a cache plugin, deactivate it clear all cache and try again.
