I have created a new taxonomy as location and assigned to posts. how can i have a filter button on my isting page to filter the post by location or date?

You need to use the Flex Loop Filters https://i.imgur.com/hEzKseG.png and add there the taxonomies -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/filters-sorting-taxonomies/
