Fonts in Say What demo

Hi – I’ve installed your theme today on http://www.takethekids.co.uk – I’m really happy with it but I would like your help with a minor issue.

The font in the main menu is not quite as the demo. It’s larger, and initially loads before resetting to a slightly different position. This looks clumsy..

Also, the titles for the top two picture articles (my site-The battle for picasso, demo-dreaming about mandarin’s) are different. The demo has a bolder look which i Prefer

Also, the titles for all other articles on the homepage have the same issue.

Obviously one issue that is impacting on all – if you coudl take a look and let me know how to resolve that would be awesome – thanks in advance 🙂

Hello,

This happens when you add too many rewrites to your css file. If you install a demo, it will rewrite the css by adding the demo style to the default theme and when you change the font again, you will be able to see these rewrites as this is the way css works. In cascades.

What you can do to avoid this is to increase your page loading speed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ so these rewrites will not be as obvious.

Thank you!

Thanks – but I’ve not changed the font again? I was more than happy with the font as it appeared in the Say What demo, but it’s showing something different? After activating the Speed Booster plugin, my menu bar now flashes up black (original colour) before reverting to blue?

Hi – sorry to post another reply before you’d had a chance to answer but I’ve looked at this more closely this evening.

The issue seems to be that Roberto Condensed font is not displaying properly – it’s not bold when it should be.

To show the issue clearly – I’ve named a post exactly the same as in your demo – see http://www.takethekids.co.uk and the Big Grid 4 post name ‘Dreaming about Mandarin Oriental’s Moroccan Magic’ then compare it to your demo at https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_what/

You can see the title text is not the same.

Also…..the menu text in the header is OK and is bold just like the demo. Until you apply the ‘extra class name'(td-grid-what) to position the Big Grid 4 flush under the header. Then it loses the bold styling.

Hope that makes sense – and hope you have a solution as this is important to my design.

Thanks in advance
Chris.

I’m having the same problem. Titles are bold in your demo, but not when I install the demo for myself. In fact, the google font call appears to be doing 400 only: href=’http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto+Condensed%3A400%7COpen+Sans…

Oops — I just found out where to make the titles bold. No worries. THEME FONTS > Google Font Styles.
