Frontpage Edits don't save

Any edits to my frontpage have stopped saving. Modifying existing elements, or adding new elements….. I will hit save on left TD Composer Sidebar, it’ll spin, and the green “Content Successfully Saved” tag shows in top right. I can close out of it, and immediately go to view, or back into edit….. and nothing has saved.

Edits have worked for the first 10-15 minutes each morning, and then suddenly stop sticking.

No outside plugins activated. Memory set to 256MB. Edits on any other page are fine. Just the frontpage is behaving this way. PLEASE help!

Please make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

Also please make a test and change the homepage page, after that try to edit it with tagDiv Composer, check if the problem persist or not.

Let me know the results!
Thank you!

Hi Calin,
I have followed your guide to the best of my abilities and from what I can tell, I have everything required.

I did test changing the Frontpage to another page and it seemed to allow me to edit and save changes.

I am beginning to think the issue is with caching. You recommend WP Super Cache, which I have been unable to successfully activate. After speaking with WP Tech Support, they informed me WP Super Cache is a incompatible plugin (https://wordpress.com/support/incompatible-plugins/). When I have installed alternative Cache plugins, Newspaper does not acknowledge them under the theme settings.

I am growing very frustrated with this theme as it was so highly popular, but has quirk after quirk that continues to be a pain point. Please help.

I just changed frontpage to a separate page and went back into the real homepage to make edits. It now popped a ref flag top right with this message: “Error at rows: 6(models) : 7(dom). The model does not match the content Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)”.

It did not do that previously when the home page was set as the front page. How would I go about finding rows: 6(models) : 7(dom)?

I started from scratch. Reloaded the Royal Pub Homepage theme from Cloud. Set it as Frontpage and began editing. Worked beautifully for about 20mins, and then stopped saving any updates just like my last experience. It’s as though it allows edits up to so much “memory” and then can no longer hold any further edits. Is this Caching? Are there other Cache plugins besides WP Super Cache which might be compatible with Newpaper?

One last note: This same page takes FOREVER to load, with minimal changes made from the downloaded cloud template. Flipping through the other pages appears fine, but if you click on “home” you’ll see just how ridiculously long it takes. What is going on w this demo theme and homepage template?

site can be viewed at chartcuteri.com

Current landing page is set as a separate post page. Clicking Home on the menu will demonstrate what I am seeing. Please help as this theme has been nothing but problems from Day 1.

Hi chartcuterie,

If I’m right you are using the theme on wordpress.com, usually this is a host that is restricting the theme functions and and plugins that can be use on this host, this can be one of the cases for way you can not install the cache plugin or why the theme stop saving and provide errors and the theme is not working properly for you, usually when you do not have a plugin conflict and the theme requirements are set as in our guide, the are no problems.
If you can to make a test on localhost and to see the difference, then f you want you can change the host. If you are not satisfy with our theme, you can request a refund here – https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new and we will approve it as soon as possible and envato will refund your money.

Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience!
