Grid and full row

Since version 7.8, all “grid” layouts for post doesn’t work and give the “Put this shortcode in full row to work”, but I was using some of them in “non full row” for having more complex layout and keep some additional content in the row.
There’s some way to fix this? I saw some new grid (Big grid full) has been added, I’d understand the error with those full ones…but also “big grid X” gives the same, and it’s a big problem for the layout I was preparing for the website, that was having for example a 3/4 1/4 layout with grid on 3/4 and a post block box in the 1/4

Thanks in advance for the help 🙂

If is not a bug / not reversible (found this thread https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/problems-after-the-update-from-7-7-to-7-8/ where you specify grids wasn’t intended to be used in not full rows), there’s some grid/plugin/alternative I can use to show post in grid but not in full row ?
I know that in some occasion the grid wasn’t resizing the thumbnails well when in split row BUT it was a good compromise for having the 1/4 “fixed box” and not all the row taken by the post grid 🙂

Hello,

If you still want to use the grid on a split row, you can remove the code we added to the grid on each big grid file:

Also remove the closing bracket for the else, further down the code: https://www.screencast.com/t/obZQwAJeckQT

Thank you!

That’s the solution I was thiking, I searched the code and editing it was the first choice, good to see it’s the same thing you suggest, thanks 😀

In addition to the thumbnail not always “perfect sizing” when the grid is not full row, there’s some other “problem” you noticed that pushed you to make the full row required? Just to know if it’s the only “con” (and I can accept it :D) or if there are other / worst problems with a 3/4 + 1/4 solution.

Hello,

The only problem is the thumbs not cropping properly. There is no other issue we know of. If you can live with thumbs that are not perfectly positioned, then there should not be other issues. Check for responsiveness though on tablets mostly where there is a sidebar present.

Thank you!
