I need a detailed step by step guide to start building the page. I have just downloaded newspaper and signed up for WordPress and do not know where to start.
If someone can please help me I would really appreciate it.

Hello,
The beginning can be pretty rough especially if you do not have general WP experience.
I would start with the WordPress basics first before applying themes. http://www.wpbeginner.com/start-here/ is a good source of information to start out.
After you get the hand of how WordPress works, then you should start here with the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/
