Hi,
I need help designing my category pages.
I have 2 issues:
Currently, all my categories share a global template. I need each category to have its own unique text. The text should appear at the top and bottom of the category page. When I add a text field to the category I’m working on, the same text appears on all categories because it is global.
All categories have the same global theme, but I need some categories to have a different look/template. How can I achieve this?
Have a nice day 🙂
Hello!
If you would like to have only some text that is different and has the same design, then you can use the category description shortcode and the same template with a different text. Check this screenshot: https://app.screencast.com/La3XdtTefdMjO
If you need more designs, you can duplicate the main template and create one template for one category, assign it only to one current category, and then modify it as you like.
Check this guide as well: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloud-library-category-templates/
Thank you!
Hi again and thank you.
Regarding the question, I found the solution based on what you wrote. I just needed a module from the page builder, and then the text appeared.
I haven’t started looking into creating different designs for categories yet, but I think I’ve found the area I need to work in. Can you check if I’ve understood it correctly based on the picture of the backend I sent?
Hello!
To display that image on each category page, you need to edit the category with the tagdiv Composer and add the Category Background Image shortcode, where you need to display the image and customize it in the tagdiv Composer. Each category will display a different image based on what you upload in the theme panel.
Thank you!
Hi Bettina,
Thanks for your help. I’ll try to test it as I go along. It’s a learning process, so that’s fine 🙂 I’ll get in touch again if I can’t figure it out.
