Hi, I’ve just set up Newspaper theme on a staging site, everything seems to be working fine apart from Visual Composer for the homepage. The Visual Composer is available from the back end and I’ve started off with the existing default template, but when I publish there is nothing showing in the content area on the homepage – there is just a blank space between the header and footer? Is there something obvious I am missing to enable it to display?
The staging site is password protected, so if you need to see it can I send you the URL privately?
Hello,
If you just started your project, i assume you do not have too many posts created on your website. Please make sure the content blocks have posts to display. If there are no posts in the categories you specified the blocks to display, the blank page will be the result. Please create at least one category and a few posts for it and set check your page again.
If this is not the case, and you have posts and your blocks are set to display a category that has posts in it, please provide more details so we can understand the situation better.
Thank you!
Hello,
Well it is one way to do it. you can use whatever sorting option you like. You can set a specific category to a block or multiple ones (or all of them). As for posts there are a few sorting options for you to chose from: http://screencast.com/t/ZRnBLtIQs8. You can read more about block settings here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please make sure you use the visual composer version that comes with the theme. Any other version will cause issues. Another thing you can try is disable all your plugins except visual composer. If the problem is still there you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your website and a password so we can take a closer look. Please also include a link to this topic so we know who you are and what the problem is.
Thank you!
Ok, thanks. I tried creating a new page and it seemed to work so it seems to be something on the existing homepage that isn’t allowing Visual Composer elements to display. Not sure what that would be though, as the homepage doesn’t have any other plugins or anything active that isn’t elsewhere. I’ll send through the link now anyway.
