2.today I received a email about theme update: “[ThemeForest] Update available for ‘Newspaper'” It says I have to download the theme .
How does the theme update work is there a guide please ? usually other theme provide updates in the wordpress dashboard by just pressing update.

The sub-footer can display a copyright text and a menu, those can be set in the theme panel.
If you want to display additional elements as you mention, you could enter the HTML in the custom HTML section in the theme panel. The HTML will be displayed below the sub-footer

This demo has custom design that will position the logo on the right, when using header style 1. All the demos have custom design, based on modifications made to the default theme elements.
In this case you could either change the header style (the design is only for header style 1), or remove the code that is responsible for the modification, in the demo stylesheet directly

The theme ad sections are not specific for Adsense ads. That ad you mention is a simple image with a link added in the ad section. For example here I use an image from media library with a link

I have seen that on several websites or even in the google search results when google is showing up question’s listed in the search results and if you click it you can see the answer under the menue, it scrolls down and opens the answer (question) if you click it again the answer closes , scrolls up (the menue closes).

That would not be possible with theme options, you could try plugins for that. There could be drop-down content plugins that could be inserted in the post content. I too have seen similar sections over time, but never took the time to actually check what was used.
You could search for drop down content plugins, or maybe tabbed content plugins they are called.

Can’t say I know what those are exactly. You say those appeared in the WordPress dashboard? The theme does not add that kind of options there, maybe it was a plugin you used previously.
