How do I deploy from dev to live?

How do I migrate my templates from my dev environment to live? I see that the theme settings has an import/export facility but this does not include templates that I create in my offline dev environment.

What I need to be able to do is create the presentation of our site over time and then – somehow – upload this to the live environment (preferably via staging). At the moment I am having to take notes on every step of template creation so I can reproduce the visual effect in another environment – surely this cannot be the best way?!

Hi,
Unfortunately for the moment we do not have an import/export for cloud templates, sorry.
Now the best way to do this is to copy the cloud content from deploy to live website. All you need to do is to make sure that you are copy the content from a type of template and you set it in the same type. -> https://i.imgur.com/OJ5Yli3.png -> https://i.imgur.com/kdmxs0H.png (if you want you can use a blank template but it need to have the same type) -> then past the code -> https://i.imgur.com/LtiGzBt.png
Hope this will help you!
Thank you!

That could potentially work for though of course media library references could differ. I am slightly concerned as when I edit new the template that received that paste (copied from template of same type) that I receive the following warning:

“Notice: The current content hasn’t been created by TagDiv Composer!”

and then

“ERROR: Errors at columns elements: 1(models): 0(dom). The model does not match the content Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)”

I am concerned that even if the template displays correctly on live that it may not be possible to edit this template in future. This would mean that when live is imaged to other environments (in future iterations) that the template will be fubar.

Do you have any suggestions / thoughts? Thank you

Hi,
“The current content hasn’t been created by TagDiv Composer” – that notice isn’t be the result of actual issues in most cases, that just notice that the last time that page/cloud template was not saved using tagDiv Composer. If you can successfully edit the page or could template then there is no problem, despite the message.
When this message appear “ERROR: Errors at columns elements: 1(models): 0(dom). The model does not match the content Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)” then indeed it is a problem, most of the time the problem is from a shortcode that is not compatible with our theme, therefore after you set it with tagDiv Composer and save the page/cloud template, next time when you try to edit it you’ll get that error.
We have a guide for how investigate this problem and fix it -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-not-working/ also after trying the steps from our guide you do not get any good results, you can contact use via email and we can investigate the problem on your website.
Thank you!
