The Auto update of the Newspaper theme has been problematic for me and I have been managing it.
The recent update crashed the website and I cannot recover it. How can I get the old version to install?
Note that I am using a VPS and I install WordPress manually using the file manager, so I am sure no option is set to auto-update any theme.

Hello,
If you did not make a backup before updating the theme, these are the only methods you can use:
One option is, as you said, to use the time machine and select the desired version, and the other option is to contact us by email at contact@tagdiv.com and tell us which version you want.
Thank you!
Hi goodmuyis,
The theme does not have the option to update automatically, this is an option that is usually set in wordpress in wp-config.php, to automatically update themes and plugins.
How to Disable Automatic Updates in WordPress
Most likely, during that automatic update initiated by WordPress, the theme plugins were deleted, only the theme was updated, and if the theme plugins that were used were no longer active, the site only showed shortcodes.
Thank you!
Thank you for the response, I have sent an email request for old versions of the theme, I need it as soon as possible. What I am currently using now is not ethical or safe.
I have never set auto update in wp-config.php. Also, I have implemented add_filter( ‘auto_update_theme’, ‘__return_false’ ); in the child-theme but did not work. The website database is large like 220k posts and installing a plugin to fix is what I am weary of.
I have looked into the Cron Events using WP Crontrol Plugin and I saw wp_update_themes hook, I have paused it and I’m going to watch if that will work.

Hi,
Please don’t get upset, maybe you didn’t receive the email from us or it went to spam.
My colleague Simion sent you those versions 2 days ago – https://i.imgur.com/kWJmVEt.png
Thank you!
