Hey everyone,
I for the life of me can’t figure out how to do these two things.
1. I want to be able to have something that looks like “Big Grid 5” that can display posts from a certain category and also have it be a slider. Not just one image that slides, but 3-5 posts/images that then slide into 3-5 new posts/images.
2. A main menu that has a sub-menu that not only displays the subcategories but also a random post, or popular posts almost as if it were divided into three sections.
Here’s what I’m talking about.
Any help with figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
1) There actually is such a grid called a big grid slide: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-slide/
It’s not styled as big grid 5 though. There is no such option.
2)In order to achieve this you will have to use a mega-menu and you can have other blocks in it by using a page menu so you can create a page in visual composer and it will be displayed inside the menu: https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-menu/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
For #1 – That’s unfortunate because I could have sworn that website is using this exact theme and has that feature on their homepage. It looks great too.
For #2 – Is it possible to insert just a single post or “popular posts” or “recent posts” widget into the menu. That’s what it appears is going on in the image I attached in the original post.
Thanks for the help. Great theme by the way!
Hello,
1) You could provide the link to the website you saw the slider on so we can see if the slider is a plugin or custom made.
2) You can do it with a page menu. As i said above, you can create any layout in a page then add it to a mega-menu. You can even recreate the one in the image you showed: http://screencast.com/t/T9GyF78NcZMy
You simply use content blocks from visual composer and sorting options: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Bogdan, you’re the man!
As far as #1 goes, here is the website. hawkblogger.com
You’ll see the slider about halfway down, titled “Power Rankings”.
Hi,
i have checked the website but the slider is custom and (theme specific). The site uses a different theme. Unfortunately there is no such slider option in our theme. You can maybe find a plugin that has such an option, but we cannot make a recommendation. Sorry!
Thank you for your message.
