How to change publish date to update date on a article

Hi there!

I see that on the Newspaper theme panel, there is an option to “SHOW DATE – Enable or disable the post date (on single post page”. Is there an option to change it to “Update date” instead of “published date”,so Google can index the most current date?

Thank you,
Angela

Hi,

With tagDiv Composer, you can add the element Single Post Modified Date in Single Post Template, and you can change the additional text in “Last updated on” => https://www.screencast.com/t/EvfUQMfzkd, and the Single Post Modified Date will show you the last time you edited that post => https://www.screencast.com/t/j74uz43paZj
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/single-post-shortcodes/
If you have a standard template, this option is not available.

Thank you!

Hi, how is it possible for standard template? I have not found any working plugin on there for that purpose.
Thank you.

Hi,

For a standard template is not implemented, please use a cloud template https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-cloud-library-templates/

Thank you!

hi! thank you for your answer. However, I would like not to change my layout for now.

Is it possible to add this to the theme panel in an update? or even change the option that already exists from “published date” to “updated last on” since Google considers it more?

thank you!

Hello,

Unfortunately, no. The settings from the theme panel are for the tagdiv standard pack plugin, and this plugin will be deprecated.

Thank you!
