How to disable google fonts, and load a web or system font?

Hi

I like this theme when I saw it and bought it over Avada or Theme X even though they are the top themes in TF.

I have read the newsmag documentation on custom font/typography. I have a question before I use this theme.
I am inside China and anything google is restricted to a narrow band when requesting for a webpage. So a website with google fonts would take a long time to load, if it does load at all. And every page that one clicks on would bring up the font googleapis com to load google font and get stuck in the traffic.

So I would like to not use google font at all, and not use Adobe typekit as well. I would like to just use an ordinary font, I do not even know what is ordinary, like Arial etc, so that the page can load as a normal page would load.

If this is not possible, then I would not use this theme for a website that targets China’s audience.

Would using a custom font do the trick? If so please suggest a couple of common fonts that I can use.

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Laurence

Hi,

Sorry for the delay!
You can try to disable the google fonts from theme’s functions file kike this: http://screencast.com/t/9ttKQGkVdR
Then download your own custom font file/files and add them using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/custom-typography/
After this use theme panel > custom typography filed and set your own custom font and for the remaining elements which you can’t change from there you can edit the style.css files and replace all font-families to your own font.
You can search online for the most common fonts used fro chinese audience download it and call from your server.
Hope this helps!

Thanks
