How to not show all the articles in the blog page

How can I customise the blog page? I don’t want to show all the articles/posts in the blog page. I have 3 categories namely blog, featured and funnel. I created a page named Funnel so that all the posts tagged as funnel category will be shown there and not in the blog page.

Hi,

If you use an actual blog page – http://prntscr.com/nahun7 there will be no control in terms of filtering the posts that appear. All the posts will be displayed, sorted by latest (publish date).

However if you use a static page (built with the tagDiv composer)
https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
https://tagdiv.com/how-to-create-homepages-with-newspaper-theme/
The content can be displayed in blocks, grids etc. These have options for filtering
https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

There are ready made homepages that can be imported with the cloud library plugin
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Homepages
Also there are block and grid designs, sections and many other templates that can be imported and used.

If you have a category named “”Funnel” that category page will only show posts with that category. If you want to also create a page to show these posts, you can do that. Enter blocks and grids in it, filtered by that specific category.

If you need help or you have more questions, let me know.
Thanks

Hi Simion,

Thanks for your help. I have another question but not related to the first topic. Hope you can help me again with this. Is there a way that the feature image will not be cropped when it’s use as a thumbnail? If I use different blocks the thumbnail changes and sometimes crop the images. What’s the correct image size for the feature image so that the thumbnails won’t be distorted?

Thanks and hope to hear from you again.

hello,
the theme uses a center-top cropping system for the featured images as mentioned here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
There is no universal image size as it depends on the thumbnail you want to image to show up in. The best advice we can provide is to make sure your image is at least the size of the thumbnail you want it to show up in. Make sure your images are at least 800 px wide for standard layouts and for a full layout, a full hd image would be required.

Thank you!

Hi Bogdan,

Any suggestion on specific size of image? I use in the homepage Block 22 and Block 6 (with thumbnails). What’s the best size of the image so that the feature image is clear and the thumbnail won’t be cropped?

Thank you!

Hi,

Usually is better to have some bigger images, in this way you’ll have beautiful thumbs, but these will still be crop.

For this will be more easy if you choose to use some flex blocks, these have more options -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ySnWPlF3BCb you can change the thumb or the width/height of image, you can change the place of meta info.

Thank you!
