Unfortunately this is no laughing matter. Switching from version 2 to version 6 will be exactly like switching to a different theme. The way I would go about it is delete the old theme and install the latest version of newspaper via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Unfortunately you will have to clear your schedule and allow a bit of time for your website as most settings and customization will not work in the current version. Old widgets and settings will be lost. You will most likely need to recreate parts of your website.
