Thanks Edward. Just a few minutes after my post I found the section “How to update the theme”. The Newspaper theme is updated now, but after updating all my menus were gone! I had to set up the menus again. Very frustrating and time consuming. The update process for Newspaper should be improved and must be more user friendly, to my opinion.

Sorry but we cannot recreate this issue. The menus are always kept after updating. Usually this happens when not updating properly and not replacing the old theme but rather keeping both versions in your themes folder. We highly advise against it.
