Hi, I occasionally get emails of theme updates. It leads to a download page where new updated theme can be downloaded. If I upload this ‘new’ theme, all my earlier theme setting are lost and I have to start form the scratch. Just like when I installed the theme for the first time.
Am I missing anything here? How to update your theme without losing your customization and theme panel settings. Please help.

Have you updated the theme at V 7.1.1 which is available on themeforest? When the theme is updated it’s settings shouldn’t be affected as they are stored in database. Please follow our documentation to update the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also before the update process deactivate ll plugin except Visual Composer, clear all caches, deactivate the child theme if you’re using then run the update.

After you have updated your theme to the latest version, please check the packet which you have downloaded from the Theme Forest and there you will see the Child Theme version for Newspaper 7. So, you will have to simply copy/paste all the code which you are in Child Theme from 6 version to this and then load the file in root, replacing it with the other.
