How to use an image or gif as a menu or footer background?

Hello,

I’m creating an animated website, where the background is animated (a moving gif image). On pc it looks great, but on mobile the background doesn’t appear.

I would like to know if it is possible to use an image, or an animated image (gif) as a background for the top menu (head) and/or the footer.

Cheers, Jose

Hello !

The designs do not match because you are using the mobile theme. The Mobile theme was specially designed for optimization on mobile devices. Unfortunately on mobile theme you cannot do much changes of design. If you want to have the same design as on desktop mode you can achieve that by simply disabling the mobile theme.

Unfortunately you cannot have the design you want. If you disable the mobile theme you will have the same layout as on desktop.

Find out more about the Mobile theme here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

Thank you !

Hello Vlad,

thanks for help 🙂

When using background, I used an animated *.gif file

However google tells me that it is better to change it to webm, but if I use a webm file, the background is not animated, in fact, it does not work. Webm is not yet supported in newspaper?

Hello,

Actually WordPress does support Webp images, all my web pages use them without problem.

But I’m not referring to webp images, but to the webm animated image format, which optimizes gif files.

It’s newspaper theme that doesn’t support it, not wordpress.Do you plan to fix this in future updates? The webp and webm formats are the most recommended for their optimization.

Hello !

Yes, if the images come through a plugin.

Unfortunately by default Newspaper Theme doesn’t support WebP format. The same thing with webM too.

We are sorry for the inconvenience !

Thank you !
