HTTP 500 after 9.7 update

Envato app auto-updated theme and the website is now broken, returning an HTTP 500 error.

– Reverted back to Twenty Nineteen via database, disabled all plugs via database, switched back to Newspaper, no change
– Deleted Newspaper and re-added, no change
– Made sure that NP theme did not have modified files other than functions and stylesheet, no change
– Deleted and re-added NP plugs from new Envato zip file, no change

This also is affecting my old ionMag theme/child theme as well, same http 500. Anything else I should be looking at?

I believe I found the issue. The new 9.7 update is incompatible with the ionMag Premium Blocks Red Pack and Grids Red Pack. Oddly enough, the Categories Red Pack works just fine. That’s super weird.

I’m getting internal 500 error too. (not using ionMag). Not found the cause.

Hello,

Yes, indeed, Please do not use the old ionMag red blocks. They are blocks from an entirely different theme.

@mscgluk

In most cases this is caused either by a plugin conflict as it was for digitalnoisestudios or by low memory allocation, file permissions, or blocked content by your firewall.

Please use this guide to increase your php version and memory allocation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Please also try to disable all non theme plugins to test for any plugin conflicts.

Thank you!
