I’ve got three sites running on a dedicated server which is split between two of my clients, the three sites on this hosting platform therefor have half a server but traffic at weekend is low and realtime Google Analytics stats show minimal users.
CPU usage is through the roof and the sites are hitting their I/O limit and returning a 508 error intermittently.
I’ve disabled numerous plugins on all three sites but there seems to be massive process queries (using query monitor) from the parent theme. Each time we up the server limits the sites max them out.

All using Newspaper 8.5.1 and WordPress 4.9.8
