Image Resize using regenerate thumbnails plugin

Hi there,

1).I’ll be making my site live very soon. Currently with regards to the featured image, our older site had a resolution of 620*300. It seems a little bit shorter compared to your theme default image size (which is about 696*465). I would like to know if I use the Regenerate thumbnails plugin, Do I have to specify the image size somewhere or will it automatically resize the featured images to your default theme image size?

2.) With regards to ads. when I am applying for Google Adsense, Wuld you recommend to leave your theme ads as they are or should I remove all of them? Also, if I do remove them, will the gaps for example in the sidebar or bottom of the posts remain or it will the elements below those images move up?

Hi,

1) The theme will use the image sizes as best it can, but if you plan on useng the images with a biger container than 620 * 300 then the images will not display properly. You should use a thumbnail regenerate plugin like this guide shows: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
and if you cannot update bigger images, use the thumbnail upscale plugin and regenerate thumbs after activation.
Here are more details about the thumbs used in our theme:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/

2)You can remove the theme ads and there will be no space remaining after you remove them.

Thank you!

Hi There,

1). Ok, Looks good will definitely give the plugin a shot after taking a backup. If it doesn’t look that good we could always revert back then. What size would you recommend for the featured images? Maybe we can keep the image sizes the way they are now and for our future posts use the resolution you recommend.

2.) Great then will remove the ads elements.

Thanks,
Prasenjit.

Hi,
The theme uses a thumbnail of 696 x 0 so anything wider than 696 px will do. The aspect ratio is also very important. On our demo we use multiple sizes, most have around 1068 × 713 px.
Thanks.
