Our instagram follower count is reading zero in the Social Counter widget.
-We are running v4.6.3 of Newspaper
-We are using v2.10 of the plugin
-We do not have a caching plugin running
-I attempted to change the instagram user name to another account, but it still read zero (and continued to read zero once I changed it back to ours)
-I tried updating the Social Counter plugin to v3.0 and it crashed our site with the following error: Fatal error: Call to a member function get_map() on a non-object in /home/(servername)/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/widgets/td_page_builder_widgets.php on line 11
Are there any other things we can try without updating our theme? It’s in the long-term plan, but would rather not at the moment.

Unfortunately the latest version of Social Counter was not tested with old theme version. Please try to add another instagram id and see if it is working. Also please provide a link so we can take a look.

I have tested this with version 4 of the theme and Social Counter 2.10 and it worked – http://screencast.com/t/v4tTC8evjL2x – http://screencast.com/t/wqxwU8h1n After you make this change please add another instagram id se if it works and then revert to your id, so you will refresh it.

Hi we are having the same problem. Instagram was reading fine a week ago and now no followers. It links out to the correct Insta account though.
Before replacing any site code with your fix, can you have a look and see if that is the issue?

Unfortunately if you use version 4 of the theme you will have to try that modification as the latest version of Social Counter provided with Newspaper 6 will not work with old theme. So please make sure that you use version 2.1 of Social Counter like I suggested above and replace the code. Or you can update to the latest version of the theme as I have checked your instagram id and did not found any issues – http://screencast.com/t/wfL8ctu3D

@r1kay Please make sure that you use the latest version of the Social Counter provided with the theme version that you use and also check this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer and Social Counter active, clear cache and see if you still have this problem. There is an issue with instagram counter, but we did not get any reports about fb and twitter.
