I currently use the Newspaper theme on my site however it will not connect to my Instagram account. I receive the following message
{“error_type”: “OAuthException”, “code”: 400, “error_message”: “Invalid scope field(s): basic”}.
I found this documentation online https://forum.tagdiv.com/instagram-widget/ on your site. However, it did not work.
It offers a work around your documentation states “you need to create the token manually using this url: https://smashballoon.com/instagram-feed/token/ however, even after doing this and receiving the Profile account pop-up. It still did not work. On the Pop-Up it says (Copy your account information below into the plugin’s “Manually Connect an Account” setting.). But, there is no documentation for your theme on how to Manually Connect an Account.

It looks like instagram retired a legacy API permission on June 29. Here’s their post: -> https://www.instagram.com/developer/
The changes for Instagram ware made, now we need some approbations from Instagram to implement the api key.
As soon as Instagram approves that we can use their api to receive Instagram feeds, we will make a theme update.

Hi, I am using Newsmag, but facing the same problem – uninstalled and installed again tagdiv composer, but now I’m not able to reconnect instagram account – getting error {“error_type”: “OAuthException”, “code”: 400, “error_message”: “Invalid scope field(s): basic”} . Please help!
Hi skyler, are you using the last version of Newsmag ( v4.9.5 )?, if yes and the problem still persists, please make a full backup and send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look.

Hi skyler, you need to make the update manually, you can use our guide from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ please use the option B. Update the theme via FTP, but before this, please make a full backup to your website and database.
