When I try to create my home page by tagdivcomposer it shows invalid page template. How to fix it up?

Please create a new page from scratch using the ‘add new’ button. and delete the old page. It was probably created using another page builder like visual composer.

Hi,
Why can’t you create a new page if it’s the front page? Simply create a new one from scratch and set it as a homepage instead of your current one.

Also please do not use both page builders at the same time. Only keep one of them active. Both plugins active will cause issues.

The front page of our blog is drawn from the current articles.
Are you suggesting I delete these and make a new front page?
Some of these articles would have been created using Visual Composer. Is this going to be a problem for us?
Newspaper appears to have a lot of problems – widgets saved but not appearing on the page, I can’t get rid of Instagram in the footer, my main image is OK on the editor but not when published etc
Nothing like the promotion material.
Seriously considering asking for a refund.

The front page does not contain any content at all. It only presents your posts. If you delete your current front page and create a new one, it will not delete your posts. it will simply delete the page presenting the posts. You should re-create your homepage from scratch when switching page builders.
I think you missed some steps in reading the theme docs. Your problems are not theme problems as you mention. You did not read the docs properly and do not know how to use the theme properly yet. Please check your sidebars in order to change widgets: https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/

I suggest you take a bit of time to learn the theme what’s and how’s first before jumping to conclusions.
The theme documentation should help in this regard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/. We will help as well with any questions you may have.
If you do not have the patience needed to learn the theme settings, we will be able to provide a refund, no problem, but keep in mind that there are themes out there LOTS harder to learn than ours and you could be facing this issue in other themes you purchase.

Agreed. Newspaper is by far the easiest to work with. Some other magazine themes do look a little better in their demos but its a nightmare to work with them (not to mention the massive page sizes and requests they make).
