Is there any plans for a more professional looking horizontal scroll for blocks?

Hi, the prev/next pagination buttons available on blocks is very “old” looking.
When where there be different horizontal scrolling options for grouped items?

For example:

– a manual horizontal scrolling container for blocks with multiple items:
https://codeburst.io/how-to-create-horizontal-scrolling-containers-d8069651e9c6
– number or dot pagination so users can go direct to a section:

Having those two features to assist users with scrolling would enhance the look of the website. It’s such a classy feature and quite common these days that it’s strange that it’s not an option in your theme.
Will this be added in any of the upcoming theme updates?

Thanks

Hi,
Right now we have only few elements with those options, for example if you use a post loop this has pagination -> https://i.imgur.com/rBz52Jv.png also the slide blocks is on big grid and big grid flex elements -> https://i.imgur.com/KZk8AZQ.png (unfortunately, for the moment those are all elements with those options, we hope that in coming updates, our theme to have new improvements, maybe for blocks too).
Thank you for your suggestions and understanding!

Hi Calin,
I have tried working with Big Flex elements, but I can’t see a scroll bar anywhere?

I am using big flex as element on main page rather than a sidebar. In your example above, is that on the main page? Like I said – I can’t see the scroll bar.

Hello,

To have a scroll bar use these blocks (Big Grid Flex 2, Big Grid Flex 5, Big Grid Flex 6, Big Grid Flex 9, Big Grid Flex 10) => https://www.screencast.com/t/C8aSXXrJt
The block is on the homepage, but you can add it where you want.

Thank you!

Ya, to be honest, I am waiting for so long for this carousel. Dont want to use slider/plugin beacuse will affected loading speed i think.

Yes it’s very strange that with the progress of websites this isn’t a feature.
Also very strange that some elements ‘sort of’ incorporate it, but most don’t, and the ‘sort of’ isn’t incorporated very well. As in, rather than have stacked blocks with scrolling bottom section, just have one row with scrolling feature.

Hopefully it’s added to an update soon!

Hello,

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand exactly what you mean by ” some elements ‘sort of’ incorporate it, but most don’t, and the ‘sort of’ isn’t incorporated very well”, Can you provide more details?

Thank you!

Hi Anamaria,

I did hit the reply button to Ricky, but it also relates to our convo.
My comments relate to the big flex blocks you mentioned above. It does have horizontal scrolling, but only on the bottom row of that block set. I don’t want the third row to only scroll.
Although I must say this is a nice feature, I only want one row with scrolling content… sort of like a slider – but more for content based posts and articles.

Hello,

I have added this suggestion to our list of suggestions and hope it will be added in future updates.
Also, an element that looks like your descriptions is the slide => https://www.screencast.com/t/4DJdfYYfLr

Thank you!

Hi again Anamaria.
The slide is great yep. Although is there any way to change the height? It takes up a large space and I would like the horizontal scrolling content to be more slim, like one of the smaller block options.

Hello,

You can set the image height and content width => https://www.screencast.com/t/cZai80Yg
if you referring to navigation icon from one slide to another, you can set the size and color https://www.screencast.com/t/YmqR4PqPI0h

Thank you!

Hello @AlexLuwees,

The theme does not have this option.
One suggestion is to use AJAX CATEGORIES DROPDOWN and filter it by categories https://i.imgur.com/8GWkiAm.jpg -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/what-is-ajax-preloading/
A workaround there could be to use the revolution slider -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos-prebuilt-websites/

Thank you!
