Is there any way to use the old meta_key `_thumbnail_id`?

I’m changing the old theme to Newspaper with existing contents, how do I bring back the featured images? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Our theme is using as a featured image an image that is manually set on each post – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/ maybe your previous theme used the first image as a featured image.
