Earlier theme was WordPress. Now moved to Newspaper.
The issue is with featured images. When the featured image is ‘ON’ on the post settings, there are two images displayed (same twice) in post and featured image is shown on the homepage themes.
When featured image is removed, only one image in post which is not displayed in the homepage theme.

I suppose you are using a smart list with a post style that displays the featured image and it will show twice. The recommended post style for smart lists is style 5 (it does not show featured image) You can read more about it here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-lists/
