I decided to disable Google Fonts due to slow loading time when testing my website with PageSpeed Insights.
I only use one font and to different weights from this font on my whole website.
So I downloaded the two fonts, converted to .woff and then uploaded as two custom fonts. And of course changed to these two custom fonts on all elements in Visual Composer.
It seemed to work fine in my browser (Chrome on Mac), and I was happy, because it also made a good effect on the loading time.
But then I checked on some other devices and browsers, and I found that it does not work a lot of places.
It does not work in Safari and Firefox at both Mac, iPad and iPhone. But it works fine in Chrome at all three devices.
What to do? Why do custom fonts only work in Chrome?

Please make sure the issue is not from a cache plugin or the browser cache.

I have no kind of server side or client side caching enabled, because I am still developing the site.

I’m having the same issue, except I haven’t uploaded custom fonts, I’m relying on the system fonts only.
– Google fonts turned off in the theme panel.
– Everything set to Roboto (in theme panel + composer)
– All cache cleared (browser, caching plugin, and Cloudflare)
– The fonts load fine in Firefox and Chrome but not in the Brave browser.
– I have tried incognito mode and turning off the caching plugin (Litespeed).
– Everything works fine when I turn google fonts back on in the theme panel.

I think your “Font Customization” guide is a bit misleading on this matter. Here are the first two sentences from the manual:
“The theme comes with two preset default Google Fonts: Open Sans and Roboto. This ensures out of the box functionality and cross-browser visual consistency.”
and
“Establish if you want to enable/disable the Google Fonts for the whole website. If you disable this option, the website will load the fonts found in the system.”
This led me to believe the two fonts were included in the theme files.
Ok. Are there any pitfalls to installing the “stock” fonts as custom fonts? Just go to “https://code.google.com/archive/p/roboto-webfont/downloads” and download all the different roboto woff files and set them as custom fonts in the theme panel and different settings according to the font customization guide?
I’m not trying to complicate this and I’m not looking for a unique look, it is just that google fonts seem to be such a common cause of slow page speeds.
