We implemented a check, if you add visual composer content to the page on the default template the sidebar is disabled. You can easily override this check by adding the following line in page.php – http://screencast.com/t/WvbLIzGyYj
Hope this helps. If it doesn’t work please provide more details about your pages, what template did you use and details about the blocks used.

What a pity for this update. You should add a BIG warning and an explanation in the download package.
My last problem is now that the theme panel is in grey and any modification on it is not taken into account
+ I only have 3 templates for pages and no forum for instance… Very weird
