I tried to link to a page on my WordPress Newspaper site from within LinkedIn and the preview feature will not work.

However, when I linked to a page on a WordPress Newspaper showcase site, the LinkedIn image preview feature functioned properly.

I believe as most sharing socials LinkedIn requires og data

We recommend the Yoast SEO plugin to manage sharing on socials, and provide the og data, the theme by itself doesn’t have what is required – https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/
Once you set everything up, test the links with the tool – https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/inspect/
