Is there a way to define the size of the thumbnail used in the live search. It uses 80×60 which i don’t use in the rest of the site, and I am trying to reduce the number of different size thumbnails i use.

Hi,
That is the thumbnail size used by the module. If you were to change this thumbnail size it will affect every instance where the module is used, not just the search section.
Thumbnails can only be enabled/disabled in the theme panel, they cannot be modififed

If you want to try and change the module that is used in the search, you could make the modification in this file, but this will probably require other modifications as well
