Mark Post/s to remain on top of Grid or Block

Good day,

I have severad grids organized by post category in my home.

Each grid filters a category and sorts post by -latests- published date.

I’d like to lock/fix/mark a specific or several posts manually, so it doesn’t get pushed down and eventually of the grid when new posts arrive, until I manually release/unmark it.

Is there a way to do that ?

Regards.

Hi,
This can be done if you set the post id in the filter tab of the block/grid -> https://prnt.sc/26x0d1t then will be display only those posts until you remove the posts ids.
I hope this will help you!

Hi Calin,

Thanks for your reply.

So it cannot be done at a post level, has to be done at design level, by and admin.

The thing is, I’d like an “editor” user, to be able to “tag” some post to be fixed, while other users/editors keep on posting.

So, let’s say I have 5 posts in a grid, and whant to freeze a specific post, then the grid would show that post and four others sorted by date descending (latest).

Given your answer, it could be done by an admin, going to the design of the page and setting the ID o that post. If that’s the case, It’s not what I looking for.

Thanks

Hi,
This can be don by admin and editor. But, the situation it is a little be different, the grid or block that use the post ids will display only those posts, so if you have 4 posts in a grid, and want to freeze a specific post, then the grid would show like this -> https://i.imgur.com/kwjeA90.png therefore, I suggest to use the big grid flex 1, so you can choose the grid layout -> https://i.imgur.com/Jb9b4LG.jpg after the number of posts that you want to display.
Thank you!

Hi Calin,

Thanks, I went around it. Lateral thinking you could say, lol.

I Added a new category, “Important”, so that the editor can have the posts belonging to the regular category , say Politics, and also to Important.

Then a cron job updates the Publish date of all posts to “system datetime” as long as they belong to the “Important” cat.

The result is that posts keep getting sorted by -latest- date, but when new posts come in, the importand ones are allways forcefully the “latest”.

Whenever the editor whats to release the post “down the river”, she removes the post from the “important” category and the date stops from beeing updated, therefore there will be newer posts.

Thanks for you replies.

Regards.
