it is completely different from what I have in my admin page.
And when I choose mega menu category that has no subs and no parents, it still shows other no sub/no parent categories with another raw below it.
And why won’t you make it possible to attach screen shots to demonstrate?? This getting really irritating 🙁

Because tennis category does not have subcats, your script just duplicates the same menu again under it with the same links!!! Meaningless and ugly!
Basic menu setup is not part of theme panel, but basic function of WordPress ..

So, you can help yourself by learning the basics of how a simple WP menu actually works by making category, sub-cat, or custom links for testing and learning to do so.

Chris, what are you talking about?
This is not WP basic menu setup, this is tagdiv setup within their theme control, where when you choose a category in the header menu that does not have subcategory, then it populates subcategory area with duplicate links instead of leaving it blank.

I would kindly request that you leave the matter to the support as you have no clue what this ticket is about.
The screens not being up to date is minor issue compared to the fact that menu gets duplicated in case of category with no subs and looks very UNPROFESSIONAL, as no magazine or newspaper or self-respecting website would allow itself duplicate menu.
For the support. Please compare two screenshots. A) from Newsmag own demo by Tagdiv; b) from Guardian
Both are for a category that has no subcategories.
Sorry. I am able to customize my menu any way i want. Guess i must have different version of theme.
I have updated to the latest October version, don’t know if the issue was in the older one too or if it is new.
The fact is it should not be there, it is a bug and should be fixed. Of course, if they don’t, I will probably order customization or if this kind of bugs/bad coding happen often will just look for another theme.
Chris, would you mind sharing a screenshot of menu for a category with no sub when inside that category? And which version do you have?

I am building the “main” menu items by hand, and not using any automation in WP …
so, for example here:

you will see in the “politics” menu item, the current category is “highlighted” …
so probably I was comparing apples to oranges, vs apples to apples …

For categories that don’t have sub, it just lists the remaining categories for you just below the menu.
Interestingly, Tagdiv does not have this bug with Newspaper. It just seem like they treat Newsmag as an orphan compared to Newspaper and I will do the switch (( Money wasted for the first one though 🙁
They even don’t bother numbering versions of Newsmag for changes, while Newspaper you know it is 7.3, for example. For Newsmag I have to refer “October version”.
And here is the screenshot from the navigation from your site to illustrate my point. Entertainment reviews and Political opinion should not show under Tech.
Well, in my case, that is not a bug …
there are no sub menu items for tech, so visitors are shown “more to read topics,” including a drop down category selector to explore topics.
That is a setting of the category page header.
So, for instance I just went to the category settings panel in the theme panel, and changed the drop down category behavior to “none” —

see ? now there are no items shown as “more to explore” menu under the menu bar. But NATIONAL, which also has no drop down choices, still has the more to explore bar.
You do have some control over that for EACH category as to how it works. Not sure how you had tennis in tennis, as I’ve not seen THAT happen before on our sites.
Not sure that helps. But that was kinda what I had meant as “you can control that…” to some respect and in my case not having any “bug” but rather a feature. Admittedly kinda set as default at the moment since I had to fix several sites in our network horribly corrupted from Aug 5 server and RAID failure (long story).
Anyway – maybe that will help 🙂

Well that might just be the dumb way they built that.
Remember you can name your menu items whatever you want with custom links, and put anything as drop downs.
So, that could just be a dumb way they built that for the demo.
But regardless, you can setup your own menus all sorts of ways from the WP menu panel, the custom mega menus, and the per category menu settings panel. So, lots of choices.
Easy to get lost though. I know I do 😉
