When I use the most popular posts in the last week option in one of my categories I will only be shown post that are very old. Far outside the scope of the filter, and it clearly not accurate anyhow. How do I get this filter to start working again?

I remember a similar situation, unfortunately I no longer remember what was the problem back then.
What I can suggest is to check to have the last theme (Newspaper v11.5.1) and WordPress versions (v6.0.1), also check the theme requirements to be set -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ after that if the problem persist, then please check the plugin conflict. Please do some tests using only the theme plugins.
