Is there a way to set up the latest articles by choosing only categories and excluding all the subcategories?
I set the filter on loop articles for single categories but it didn’t work. The theme picks all categories and subcategories.

If you want to display posts from a category and remove the posts included in one of it’s sub-categories, first add the parent category ID (ex. Fashion category: 341) and after it place the sub-category ID (ex. Daily subcategory id: 342) with a ‘-’ symbol in front, like it’s shown in the image. If you decide to use the ‘multiple categories filter’, the standard Category Filter will be ignored.

We’ve already tried to insert the categories id in different ways. You can see on the screenshot in the link one of them (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/l6kn97yh794t6u1/AAACZ4ahgtFioe5SfR54N8K-a?dl=0)
We’ve also tried to insert the id codes as you can see below:
(17,26,27,28,29,30,-22,-18,-131,-25,-21,-23,-24,-19,-43,-39) inserting the main categories and then adding the ones we would like to exclude.
and also:
(-22,-18,-131,-25,-21,-23,-24,-19,-43,-39,-41….) trying to only insert the subcategories ids of the ones we would like to exclude from our dropsdown menu.

In order to hide subcategories you need to go in posts>categories, and hover the subcategory ( https://www.screencast.com/t/qyXjm8eB0bCJ ), then all you need to do is to filter the categories ( https://www.screencast.com/t/6xmUIxncEWkf ).

It’s important to notice that our subcategories are cities and our main categories are the topics.

I think you refer to drop down ajax filter ( https://www.screencast.com/t/9f8SBSxP0i0 ), if is so then you need to look for filter type ( https://www.screencast.com/t/8gxjJXp7 ), and for ajax you can set just positive numbers .

Would it be possible to add extra rows on the main menu?
For example: for the Cronaca category, we have 8 other subcategories (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/irb4ezd3iqb3gvb/AACwOnOkgFcE79ZaJWdm9CKSa?dl=0). Although we can only see 5 of them. How would be able to solve that as well?

If I understand correctly, you say you have 8 subcategories, and is show only 5 of them in mega menu.

the filter works correctly..because I tryed to set up added this setting: (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1h4ZOkMNKY9apBGZjjUvhHMHhuvOHR9Yi) and finally it works…but Today I am in allert: becuase the posts that there are into “All” (in italian: Tutte) hasn’t all posts that there are in the other categories, like: cronaca, politica, economia… etc. Moreover the All’s loop posts is update to yesterday (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1h7qP0wfgxsA0w2Le95py9VX63zBCfiZb)! differently of loop’s posts for example of “politica” (https:https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OTPaHyD2y_Lj_f-t_4SvKdFhWbKBxi9x).. In fact This it has rightly the today’s articles; like the the other categories but this it’s not been for “All”!

Please notice that in that block the all means all categories that it is set in that block filter, not from all posts that you have posted.

If you take a closer look for example this post have 3 categories -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Q21yzTs9OG one of them is set with “-“, so this mean that you want to hide that category, this means that those post that have that category will be set to hidden even if this post has set others categories that are set to be showing.
