Newspaper theme giving me a headache

I can use this plugin but can’t use that plugin. Changed the background and showed fine on explorer and chrome but firefox still hasn’t changed. Cleared my cache, cleared firefox cache, restarted my computer, restarted firefox but still showing the old, not the new. Asked how to bring my posts etc. to a new demo but got some answer that was unclear to me, a person who is unfamiliar with this theme. I need a step by step instructions for dummies. After I install a new demo with content, how do I change the content to my own. Please explain to me as a newbie, not as one of the developers of the theme. Thank You.

First, useful to look at actual ‘page source’ for a created post. If the page being loaded has a background in the HTML, then it’s there for everybody, not just one browser or another. If you write the word “puppy” on a page, it’s there for every browser. The only reason and image doesn’t load from one browser to another would be caching; meaning if one browser loaded the old photo yesterday, you change it, and still loading old image today in ONE place, it’s not the website or the theme, but caching someplace.

I don’t work here, but that has been my experience. Generally best to test site with Chrome, vs Firefox, as FF sometimes has major compatibility bugs with the rest of the known universe which you can only address by doing an update to FF to see if the bugs fixed.

I find it useful to
a) go through the tutorials here
b) go through EVERY admin panel to see what’s there

Sorry if that didn’t help. Just some input 🙂

We’ve all been there. so hang in there!

Don’t have a clue what happened but I decided to remove the newspaper theme then reinstall it, and the changes to the background now show. Too weird if you ask me, but it showed fine on Explorer and Chrome. Must be a firefox bug or maybe a newspaper theme bug.

Hi,

You can always ask for more information until everything is clear, when you have a problem or you are in a bind. We and other users will do our best to help you.
When you install a demo with content, this will simply import some dummy content to see how everything will look. This content includes posts, categories, menus etc. You have to create your own and replace these

https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-category-settings-work/
All elements on the homepage can be customized as well. The Big grids and blocks can be configured to pick posts from your categories and you can also sort the posts

Yes, thank you. I get that, but I have already created posts, etc. on the blog already. How do I transfer them to the new demo?I guess what I am asking is all my post categories will still be there in my database or will that be overwritten by the content in the new demo and I have to start fresh?

Hi,

The theme will not delete any content you made for you website. If you have installed a demo before, uninstalling it will remove only the demo content that was imported. Your posts are stored in the database, they will not be removed

You can always and it is recommended to make periodic backups, in case something unexpected happens

Thanks
