I am aware that my issue is not officially supported, I am however hoping there is a really simple solution * there should be*.
I am using wp-types (wp-types.com) to create custom post types. I am also using it to create custom post templates, for these custom post types.
When creating, and trying to use custom post type templates created in wp-types they are not displaying. Instead, Newspaper’s pre-chosen template is still appearing.
– This doesn’t happen with other themes.
It would appear that Newspaper is somehow over-writing some form of template selection process in WordPress. I am not sure. Is there a way to change this?

Post templates for custom post types have to be created using the default post templates available in the theme, that would be the only way of displaying custom post types, at the moment

I don’t know unfortunately how the implementation you are using works, but it will most likely require theme modifications to modify the current functionality, if even possible.
