Page Speed and Requests

Hi,

I have spoken to the webhosting company for my website and they keep telling me to optimize my site as much as possible and reduce the # of requests to 35-40. I have optimized most of the plugins and images, but here are my results still:

This specific test was done on March 12 at 12:41:54 from Dallas, Texas, USA. The web page took 14.87 s to load, used 95 requests, and weighed in at 1.4 MB.

The Google Page Speed performance grade for this web page is 62/100

There’s a ton of more information you can check out here: http://fpt.pingdom.com#!/ijBuG/http://feedup.ca

Suggestions on how to optimize and reduce all these requests. The results show a ton of css files as the requests. All the info is there, but a 14.87s load time for a site is ridiculous!

Please help.

Yup. You do need to optimize your site. Welcome to WordPress!

Did you do all the suggestions from my sticky post ?

Are you running the tag div speed booster?

Did you minimize use of un-needed external elements being loaded from other sites (e.g., gravatars?); minimize use of multiple networks for advertising?

Hi,

Thanks Chris!
You can also go trough this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
In general google synchronous ads, plugins and lots of theme customization or a high number of queries on pages slow the site.
You can also follow and use instructions provided in this tread: http://forum.tagdiv.coem/topic/pagespeed/

Thanks!
