Hi,
I just updated the theme to the latest version. I use the view counter with caching and the view counters work, but the polpular 7 days post sorting still doesn’t work. I’ve enabled it for my sidebare block 2 but it still shows old posts that haven’t been viewed in ages, but the they still appear… these are the custom fields of the post that appears as most viewed:
How do I fix this and make my sidebar really show the most viewed post from the last 7 days? I’m trying to get this to work for ages now 🙁
Hi,
I’ve turned off W3 Total Cache and it has made no difference to the posts that are shown when I use the 7 day sort. I’ve had to create a new category to add posts to just to show posts that are relevant rather than the seemingly random posts that are being pulled in now.
Any news on a fix for this?

Hi,
Please make sure you have enabled it from Post Settings in Theme Panel, like this http://screencast.com/t/NcbGgR1LNh
Also clear your cache and try to see if it works, without using cache.
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
I don’t have a cache running on the site I turned it off as per the suggestion. The post settings for popular posts over 7 days is turned on but out of 3 posts, one is from this week and the other two are from march and november 2013 and looking at the stats, have not been viewed for months.
Regards
Hi,
any news on a fix for this? I’ve updated to the latest version and I’m still seeing odd results on my front page.
Thanks
Mike
Hi,
Should work, we have worked at this in the last update, also added a new feature for post views count in Theme Panel under Post Settings to update the post views count for both pages and single post page if you have a caching plugin active http://screencast.com/t/nRx0wXt82
Please also try to deactivate all plugins except those theme requires and check to see if the popular 7 days post sorting starts working. Also please send a link to your site and point out where do you use these feature.
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
you can see where I am trying to use the 7 day popular posts on the front page of this site http://myturriff.co.uk/ just below the big picture, titled ‘Most Read’, I’m seeing one post from this week and 2 from 2013. The two posts from 2013 according to jetpack stats have not been viewed once in the past 30 days.
I’ve tried turning off all non required plugins and still get the same result.
I turned off W3 Total Cache when you first highlighted the issue with it so there are no caches to clear.
Any ideas
Hi,
Can you please give us wp-access so we can check this? Please provide your wp-admin user and pass at contact@tagdiv.com and also include link to this topic in your message or specify the issues details.
Also until we can offer you a solution I can suggest you to use the filter by tag feature http://screencast.com/t/zqqRyDsY This way you will control which posts will be displayed within that block, just add a specific tag to the post you want to add and then add that specific tag into the “Filter by tag slug:” filed also.
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
is there any update on this? I’ve supplied the requested information.
Cheers
Mike
Any news on a fix for this?
I’ve just installed the latest version of the theme but it doesn’t seem to be working still. The Jetpack top posts & pages widget works and pulls the most popular content in, is there anyway you could modify that and add it to the page builder?
Hi,
Unfortunately we haven’t made any progresses regarding this issue and we are still try to find a solution for a better implementation to this.
You can try this to get the “Jetpack top posts & pages widget” into page builder like this:
1. Create an sidebar: https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars/ and add only the “Jetpack top posts & pages widget” into it: http://screencast.com/t/a5ddYXDb
2. Go to page builder and add the widgetised sidebar like this: http://screencast.com/t/huoeVy6I
3. Chose the sidebar you made when editing the widgetised sidebar: http://screencast.com/t/OFMPU0Gan5
Sorry for the delay. Hope this helps!
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
Sorry I never came back to you about this.
This solution only partly works for me because I have a couple of pages that are very popular so I end up with page author avatars appearing in the list as well as the popular posts.
Cheers
Mike
Hi,
Unfortunately we are still investigating the issues we have with this post sorting and hopefully we will provide a fix within next theme update.
I have made a quick search and found a small hack on how to “show only posts in jetpack top posts & pages widget” You can go over it and check if this works for you also.
Sadly due to the short time that I have available I’m not able to configure this and make tests with it so I can’t assure you it will work.
Please let me know if this helps.
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks for the message!
Hi Lucian,
thanks for the hack. I’ve been trying various methods of showing popular posts with different plugins, hacks and edits but none of them look as good as your out of the box set up.
I’ll wait on future updates, it’s not a killer but a nice to have 🙂
Cheers
Mike
Hi,
I got the same issue, hope you may fix that soon possible.
Thanks,
Jeff
Hi,
We will look into this matter. You can use this work around: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/popular-7-days-post-sorting-still-doesnt-work-in-last-update/#post-22238
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
Still not working for me.
