I want to show posts from the same category in the sidebar. how do I do that?
For e.g. If a post (of category “Fish”) should only show Posts of category “Fish” in the sidebar.

You have the option to specify the category/categories from which the posts will be picked. And also choose different post sorting, if needed.

I think you’ve misunderstood the question.
On a post, the sidebar should show links of that Post’s category only

The sidebar is not related to the post itself. It will display content according to your widget configuration. You can create any number of sidebars.
So if you want to have a certain sidebar on a post simply create it and set it

Or control the sidebars displayed with a primary category. Specify a primary category for posts, and then all the posts from that category will display the sidebar set in the category settings

On the bottom of the posts there is a Related articles section, that shows posts related by category or tag

It seems a lot of work for a small job. A widget like “Ultimate Posts Widget” can do the job easily. I was expecting the same kind of functionality.
