We have 6 live websites running this theme. Each license is from Themeforest, which only allows us to download Newspaper 8. Because of some modifications, we haven’t been upgrading every version, as it would conflict with some other functions we had to add. Our main website is still on 7.3, as it was the most compatible with what we have on there.
Is there a repository where we can download Newspaper version 7.8? Do you recommend any in-between upgrades from 7.3 to 7.8, or can we simply update right up to 8?

You can simply update the theme directly to the latest version. Please consider making a backup for your website just to be safe, and check the theme change-log

In the latest version, the tagDiv composer was introduced. This editor is activated by default, and in some cases involving Visual composer elements there might be layout issues (if this is the case deactivate the tagDiv composer plugin)
