As a semi-veteran Newspaper user, I have purchased and installed Newspaper X for yet another customer and it is doing something I haven’t had to deal with previously: Using the Standard pack and trying to put the logo in via the Theme Panel, it appears to be placed there, but “SAVE SETTINGS” just creates a spinning box and no save (including a wait of several minutes).
No other plugins under my control are activated (the hosting company has some “must use” things that never de-activate)
All other settings are within the Newspaper X configuration guidelines

So if I understanding correctly the theme panel will not longer save the changes, if is so then please make sure that the theme requirements are set as in our quid ->https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ also make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict.
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module which blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.
