I have a problem with contact form created on the basis of ACF
After updating Newspaper Theme to version 12.6.9, when sending forms created on the basis of ACF, the message about successful form sending no longer appears. The form “hangs” on the page. But the letter is sent and posts with existing fields are created.
When returning to version 12.6.8, the problem disappears.
This situation occurs on different sites, different forms using ACF. And everywhere after rolling back to version 12.6.8, the problem disappears.

Hi, I am encountering the exact same issue and it is incredibly annoying that you don’t add resolutions to these problems on any of the associated threads. Latest version of Newspaper, tried everything, it just refuses and returns the error message “An unexpected error has occurred and the mail could not be sent” below the form, so clearly not resolved.
Hi Robert Turner, our theme do not have a contact form and this needs to be added using an extra plugin. So in case you are using a plugin for contact form and you get the message “An unexpected error has occurred and the mail could not be sent” then most possible you do not have set a SMTP . Use an SMTP plugin like WP Mail SMTP your host likely blocks PHP mail. Configure it with your email provider’s SMTP settings to fix the error.

Problem is, from the look of it, that article is either dodgy or the latest version of Newspaper is glitchy. And no, our host does not block SMTP, it works perfectly on our other sites.
So my question remains, why does your Post Forms Button return an error when you click on it to submit fields created in ACF?

That is a different type of contact form and to make it similar to this one https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/ then you need to use the acf plugin to create a cpt and add additional custom fields and settings (you need to build the form using the acf plugin and create it from scratch, our theme have only support for a few acf fields type to display), then when you add the button for submit, make sure this option – https://i.imgur.com/PCCjj1k.png is enabled after that check in opt-in builder to have this option enabled – https://i.imgur.com/Kavm7he.png
