Hello
I am trying to set a filter for an specific category. When I choose a filter, I realize that some posts don´t appear on homepage, (the filter category and other ones too). I have some blocks, first a block 18 and then some blocks 2, using offset post.
Thanks
Hello Albert,
Please ensure that you have correctly used the offset option for your posts. Please notice that the number of the offset have to be equal with the number of the posts that you have set it to show on your page, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/G17zsatudlA otherwise, you will lose some posts.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hello, I have this order:
– block 18 (1post)
– block 2 (2 posts)
– block 2 (2 posts)
– block 2 (2 posts)*
– block 1 (5 posts)*
I want to remove a category from the last two blocks*, I just want to display the category on first 5 post, and then to be filtered. I checked the number of posts and it´s correct. If I don´t introduce “the category filtered”, everything works great, but when I filter the category, I lose some posts.
Thanks
Hello Albert,
Please try to set your blocks by the following example and check the results.
-block 18 ->> filtered by category X with offset 1
-block 2 ->> filtered by category X with offset 2
-block 2 ->> filtered by category X with no offset
-block 2 ->> filtered by category Y with offset 2
-block 1 ->> filtered by category Y with no offset
-> and then you have to set for each block how many posts you want to be displayed on the block.
Hope this helps!
If is not what you mean, please provide more details about your desired changes so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thank you for the message!
Hello
It is not exactly what I would like. I don´t want any offset on block 18, I don´t understand the offset you have said to me. I suppose that there must be a relation between them and set an offset ordered.
Also, I don´t understand the difference between category X and Y.
I would like to set the block order that I said above.
Thanks
Hello Albert,
The offset is used to avoid the duplicity of the posts and with other words to be unique for your homepage. The number of the posts you can set for each from each block settings, above the offset field, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/mQsT4qmcN For more information about block settings you can find in our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/ All of these settings are tested and seems to work as expected.
Please try to implement yourself because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, we only can guide you to the right direction.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hello
Yes, I understand that offset is used to avoid duplicity. It works great when I don´t filter any category, but when I introduce this category previously mentioned, it removes some posts and that´s exactly what I don´t understand.
As I showed above, I limit 12 posts by overall.
– block 18 (1post limited)
– block 2 (2 posts limited)
– block 2 (2 posts limited)
– block 2 (2 posts limited)* category X filtered
– block 1 (5 posts limited)* category X filtered
On the last two blocks is exactly where something wrong happens.
Thanks
Hello Albert,
Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect your setup page. Also, please specify what posts you disappear in this regard. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can know who you are and what the issue is.
Thanks.
Hello
I have finally solved the problem. I have set the same limit post number and offset posts. It seems that it works. Probably I was wrong, because you said to me that they had to be equal, but I didn´t understand exactly what to do. At this moment, I have the perfect configuration, so I will notify you if there is a problem.
Thanks
