I’ve installed the default demo theme at http://islingtonnow.co.uk (without the demo theme content, as there’s existing content there), as here https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/ — but it seems to have little effect on the home page, limited elsewhere, too. I’ve tried regenerating thumbnails (using the RG plugin).
I understand that the demo theme is supposed to install the formatting/layout of that demo theme — so What am I missing, please?
thanks
Thanks for replying. I was expecting the home page to look more like the (default) demo theme home page, with blocks etc — as it, the main part of the home page (excluding footer and the twitter sidebar) is simply a series of (the start of) stories. Screenshot here: https://www.evernote.com/l/AAuDq4fckk5Mr7MUyvt7UjCdEycbAQdPwn0
Doesn’t a demo theme (without content) apply the structure/formatting/layout to existing content?
Am I missing something here?
thanks
Also, the demo theme here https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ seems to have the home page the same as the ‘news’ category? How would I set that up, given that installing the demo theme doesn’t set that, it seems…
thanks
Hello jchcity,
Please notice that you are on Blog mode and that’s why you bring this layout. You should setup your homepage to be a static page if you want to have the same design with our demo preview. Also, to make these changes, you should edit here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/qYkjmCxA1eq
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
One other point I’m stuck on: how to access/use the full range of elements — Big Grids, blocks etc — in tagdiv composer? I’ve been editing a page and can access/use the blocks but nothing else…
This is what I see in the ‘add element’ sidebar: https://www.evernote.com/l/AAsW0mgdajZCmqN3r_oDCOrcrYqIHPUn7Y0
Not the full range of elements that appear in your video, in which the user scrolls down a long list of elements: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=51&v=N2wGizMz4X0 as here: https://www.evernote.com/l/AAsIpXu2wZ9PxLmzpWL7Sve_lKDc213H-VE
thanks
Hello jchcity,
You should have access to all of the Blocks from TD Composer, as you can see in our tutorial. Make sure that you are using the latest theme version on your side and then, check your system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Probably, your PHP memory has exhausted and that’s why you cannot have access to all theme’s settings. Try to do this, clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
