Hello,
Please also update your social counter plugin. The version did not change as it is still 4.1 but the fix was implemented in the latest release. Please disable and delete your current social counter and then install the one from the latest theme package.
Also very important: clear your browser cache. Here is an example for chrome: https://www.screencast.com/t/f9Q66lPx1fY
Thank you!
Hi,
Please use this guide to make sure you have configured the social counter properly
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
If you have installed the latest version of the plugin from the theme package, and also cleared the browser cache, everything should work as intended. Please remove the social counter from your page, disable all your plugins except Visual composer and this plugin, clear any caching installed on your website then add and configure the counter and check the results.
Also make sure that your Facebook profile is public (very important)
Please note that some delay can be possible for the data to synchronize, and the counter to display the Facebook likes. If this does not happen please provide a link to your website where the counter is present, so we can inspect it.
Thanks

Hi,
Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a closer look. Leave your social counter element configured so we can try to generate token key.
Also paste a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks!

Hello,
the custom plugins will not notify you of any updates. You will have to disable and delete the plugin and simply install it again from the theme panel: https://www.screencast.com/t/hnDmwPVpDkp
Thanks.
Hello Bogdan, thank you for your reply. I disabled and deleted the plugin, then I reinstalled it from the theme panel as you suggested. However, I’m still unable to get the access token (I only get a red “please wait” message). ALSO, since it failed, I checked the newly installed Social Counter plugin version, and it’s the same I had: 3.1 instead of 4.1!!!
Please help, thank you.
Hi,
Please delete the version that you have installed now and install this version instead:
http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/td-social-counter.zip
If you still cannot get the access token to work even with the version provided, please contact us on our email address at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site and wp-admin (login information and admin rights) so we can login and investigate. Please also include a link to this conversation.
Thank you!
Hello, I was able to get the access token, thank you. HOWEVER, afterwards I got the following error on the homepage:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method td_block_social_counter::get_block_css() in /home/ahoracom/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-social-counter/shortcode/td_block_social_counter.php on line 52
I had to deactivate it while I wait for your reply. After deactivating it this appears on the homepage where the social counter should appear:
[td_block_social_counter custom_title=”MANTENTE CONECTADO” facebook=”tagDiv”]
The URL for the site is http://www.aquiahora.com.gt
Waiting for your reply…
Hello,
Please update your theme. You use a very old version of the theme and the new social counter will not work in newspaper 6.
Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If for any reason you cannot update your theme, you will not be able to use the social counter anymore as Facebook changed their implementation and the new plugin version is not backwards compatible.
Thank you!
Please contact us on our email address at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site and wp-admin (login information and admin rights) so we can login and investigate. Please also include a link to this conversation.
Thank you!

Hello Bogdan, thank you for the support via email. I see what the problem is: there is a Social Counter installed by default on the theme which I don’t know where to edit or remove, which currently has your (Tagdiv) social counter data.
I had configured correctly the Social Counter but it wasn’t on the default sidebar widget so I never noticed that it was already correctly set. When I moved it to the default sidebar widget, it appeared with the correct data from my fan page. BUT the problem is that the default Social Counter which appears at the top of the sidebar is still there, with tagdiv’s data. Where do I remove it?
